Position Overview
Ardent Health Services is seeking experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurses for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This is a general acute care Med/Surg position caring for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of medical diagnoses. The ideal candidate will have strong Med/Surg or Med/Tele experience, comfort managing higher-acuity patients, and experience with telemetry, post-procedure care, and complex medical conditions.
Important Note: Although the unit name references Neuro, this is NOT a Neuro unit. The Neuro unit relocated, but the unit name has not yet been updated. This is a general Medical Surgical acute care unit.
Unit Details

- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Beds: 24
- Daily Census: Approximately 24 patients
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
- Charting System: Epic
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling
- Floating: Required
- May float to other Med/Surg or Med/Tele units
- Will not float outside of their specialty/acuity level
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Approximately 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
- Call Requirement: None
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (appropriate state requirements)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience
- BLS required and must be active at time of submission
- Epic experience required

- Remote telemetry monitoring
- Rapid Response/Code Team experience
IV Therapy & Procedures
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- IV therapy/phlebotomy
- Central line blood draws
- PICC line management
- Port access/management
- Blood product administration
Respiratory & Critical Care Support
- Oxygen administration
- Non-invasive airway management
- High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- Chest tube management
- ABG interpretation
Additional Skills
- Wound care/wound vac
- Feeding tube management
- Heparin drips

- Isolation precautions/PPE
- Surgical drain management

Schedule & Contract Details
- Shift: Nights, 4x12-hour shifts
- Hours: Option for 36 or 48 hours/week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

- RN with 1+ year recent Med/Surg or Med/Tele experience
- Comfortable with 1:6 ratios and floating within Med/Surg specialty
- Strong Epic documentation skills
- Experienced with telemetry and post-procedure patients
- Previous travel experience preferred (but not mandatory)
- Available for night shift and every other weekend
